Lincoln man accused of stealing large amount of ammunition while employed at Walmart

Police in Milford have arrested a Lincoln man, who they say, stole thousands of rounds of ammunition from a local superstore.

Milford Police say during an investigation into a series of internal thefts from Walmart dating back to late January, they linked 35-year-old Linwood Hallman Jr. to the crimes.

According to the report, during Hallman’s employment at Walmart, he took several thousand rounds of ammunition of varying calibers, along with other survival related items from the store. Detectives reportedly found the ammunition at his home on Butler Avenue, along with a rifle scope, and survival bags and kits. Police say they also seized multiple firearms, and knives from the house.

“What our belief is, that he wanted to take the items and keep them as some sort of survival method somewhere down the road.” Says Detective Dwight Young.

Hallman has since been charged with felony theft $1,500 or greater, and is now being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on $5,000 bond.
