Lewes Public Library says no to city funding, for now

The Lewes Public Library has confirmed with 47ABC that as of right now, the library will not be seeking additional city funding to build their new library.

47ABC has learned from the library’s director that there are still questions surrounding the project for the new library, and they are unsure what will happen to the current library after the new one is built. Due to those factors, the library decided not to pursue city funding.

However, the library is accepting donations from the public through their website.

We were told the new multi-million dollar library will be adjacent to the current one. The construction is scheduled to be in finished in April of 2016.
