Habitat For Humanity “breaks ground” for 61st Wicomico Co. home

Within six months, a Crisfield family will be home owners for the very first time. Their first house will built by Habitat For Humanity.

Wayne and Susie Zickafoose, along with their grandson Kevin, will be moving to Salisbury once the home is complete.

The family first applied for a home back in 2007.

After raising 1,800 dollars their own for the closing, they can look forward to a one-story home. It will be complete with three bedrooms and one-and-a-half bathrooms.

Wayne explains it has been an uphill battle for his family.

“I went through a major open-heart surgery and I didn’t even think it would be possible we would even have a home but with prayer and seeking God’s faith…is the reason why we have it.” Says Wayne.

The home is being designed by Fischer Architecture. This is their third design Fischer has donated to the Habitat build.

This is Habitat’s 61st home in Wicomico County.
