Funding for firefighters announced

A major spending bill will reportedly include $680 million-dollars for our nation’s first responders.

According to Senator Barbara Mikulski,. this funding can help firehouses across the country including the Eastern Shore.

340 million dollars will reportedly fund firefighting  equipment and protection. While the other half, will fund staffing and recruitment.

In 2013, fire departments on the shore received over two million dollars in federal spending.
