Fire rips through Hurlock church building

Fire officials responded to a fire at a building next to the Full Gospel Church of God around 10:30 Wednesday night. Officials say a fire consumed the second and third floor of the building, with damage on the first floor as well. 47 ABC spoke to R.J. Helmer of the Hurlock Volunteer Fire Company who was inside the building during the blaze, he said the fire almost completely consumed the second floor.
Officials say no one was inside the building at the time of the blaze, and no fire fighters were injured. The fire was reportedly extinguished in under two hours. Members of the church say the building was sometimes used for homeless housing, but was unoccupied at the time. Members say the church stored items in the building, and used it as a fellowship hall.
47 ABC talked to Minister David Dickerson on the scene who says Full Gospel will still hold church on Sunday at their Denton, Md. location.
State Fire Marshals are still investigating the cause of the fire.
