Fallen tree kills man in Caroline Co.

An official from the Ridgley Volunteer Fire Department says a 44-year-old Ridgely man was pronounced dead Tuesday afternoon as a tree he was attempting to cut down apparently fell on him.

Ridgely VFD Public Information Officer Brian Ebling says firefighters got a call around 3:00 PM to the 12400 block of Eveland Road, when another worker found the man unresponsive shortly after the incident. Ebling says first responders attempted CPR on the scene, but could not resuscitate the victim. Ebling says the man was pronounced dead at the place of the incident.

Maryland Occupational Safety and Health officials are working with the Medical Examiner’s office to investigate the death.
