Easton man arrested in Idlewild park with loaded handgun

An Easton man is facing charges, after he reportedly was found trespassing in a park, with a loaded handgun.
Easton Police say on Wednesday, an Officer on patrol near Idlewild Park, noticed a car parked with someone inside. The Office spoke with the driver, 31-year-old Gerard Hutchins, and informed him that the park was closed, and the Officer says they saw sings that Hutchins was intoxicated, along with a small amount of marijuana in plain sight.
Hutchins was then arrested, and his vehicle was searched, reportedly revealing more marijuana and a loaded 9MM Glock Semi-automatic handgun.
Police say Hutchins didn’t have a permit for the gun, so he was charged with wearing and carrying a loaded handgun in a vehicle without a permit, along with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of marijuana under 10 grams, trespassing on posted property, and other related offenses. He was released pending trial, after an initial appearance.
