Dover PD investigating fatal pedestrian crash

Dover Police say they are investigating an accident that took the life of a pedestrian.

According to authorities, Brittany Paige, 19, of Dundalk, Maryland, was jogging Monday evening when she was hit by a car on North State Street in Dover.

Reports say Paige was crossing the Walker Road intersection when the accident happened. Police say witnesses told them Paige was looking at her cell phone with ear phones in as she walked through stopped traffic on the Southbound lanes. She reportedly began to jog across the Northbound lanes before looking for oncoming traffic, and that’s when police say she was hit by a car which had just turned onto North State Street.

Paige was rushed to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
