Dover holds off late charge by Delmar

The #12 Dover boys basketball team advanced to the second round of the DIAA boys basketball tournament, after they defeated #21 Delmar 67-63.

Jordan Allen scored a game-high 34 points for the Senators, willing them to victory. Dover jumped out to a lead as big as 15 in the second quarter, but the Wildcats would claw their way back in the game led by three seniors. Larry Ennis (14 points) nailed a three and hit a layup in the beginning moments of the fourth, before Dover would later gain the lead back. Kavon Trader, around the bucket all night, led Delmar with 19, while Shane Leatherbury added 18.

Dover advances to the second round, where they will travel to take on #5 St. Elizabeth’s on Friday, March 6th.
