Divencenzo, Salesianium too much for Polytech in state title game

The Polytech boys basketball team saw an incredible season come to an end, when they fell to Salesianum 52-46, at the University of Delaware’s Bob Carpenter Center Saturday afternoon.

The Sals got out quick on Poly, taking a 26-16 lead into the break. An 11-0 run to start the third quarter would put the Panthers right back in the drivers seat, at 27-26. The lead would not last long as Villanova commit Donte’ DiVincenzo would take over the fourth for Salesianum. DiVincenzo would score 13 of his 23 in the fourth, and add 13 rebounds.

Polytech was led by Juwan Gray’s 20, and Devaughn Mallory’s 13 points, but it would not be enough. Polytech’s win streak ends at 19, with a 23-2 record on the season.
