Delaware looks to ban electronic cigarettes in public places

Restaurant and bar goers in Delaware may soon have to step outside to puff away on their electronic cigarettes.
Lawmakers are introducing legislation that would ban e-cigarettes in public places. It’s essentially an add-on to the Delaware Clean Indoor Air Act which already prohibits regular smoking indoors. 47 ABC spoke with CEO of The Delaware Restaurant Association, Carrie Leishman, who told us the ban would simply clarify a situation that is often unclear.
Leishman tells 47 ABC, “Because restaurant patrons and owners, servers, bartenders are used to no smoking of any kind in a restaurant and a bar and its often causing confusion. It’s really unclear so that’s why we support adding e-cigs to the Clean Indoor Air Act.”
North Dakota, Utah and New Jersey have already banned e-cigarettes indoors and more than forty states including Delaware, prohibit selling them to minors.
