Del. officials propose new violent felony laws

In Delaware, the words “violent felony” may soon have a different definition.

Attorney General Matt Denn, along with other state officials, proposed to remove some drug possession crimes from that list on Monday. If someone were to be believed to intend to deal drugs; however, that would still be considered a violent felony.

Under the proposed legislation, two other crimes would be added to the list of violent felonies. This includes promoting the sexual solicitation of a child and resisting arrest with force or violence.

We’re told this bill is expected to be introduced in the house of representatives later this week.
