DE lawmakers to vote on health care changes

Delaware legislators have reportedly reached an agreement with the Governor’s Office  to delay proposed increases to employee health care costs.

As of right now, a $60 million shortfall in the state’s health plan is still under review. As a result, officials say the State Employee Benefits Committee will hold a vote Friday on a plan that includes no deductible or co-pay increases for state employees.

The increases could impact about 120,000 Delawareans. State officials say the plan will hopefully provide state employees who want “certainty and stability when it comes to the price of their medicines, doctor visits and hospitalizations.”
