Cordova woman accused of stealing $100k from Easton Utilities

A Cordova woman has been charged, after she reportedly stole more than $100,000 from her employer. Easton Police say on Tuesday, Officers served a summons on 38-year-old Christina Guy, a former Easton Utilities employee, for two counts of theft.

Police say Guy was an employee of the utility company from July 2001 until May 2014, in the customer service department.

According to the report, in early 2014 Easton Utilities started investigating a series of irregular transactions, and found that from December 2008 until April 2014, Guy had stolen over $100,000 from the company. Once the discrepancies were found, action was apparently taken to terminate further activity, and prevent it from happening again.

Guy was charged with theft scheme $100,000 plus and theft scheme $10,000 to under $100,000. Police say their investigation hasn’t shown any evidence of the misuse of personal information.

An initial court appearance is set for March 25th.
