Competency hearing set for alleged Christmas Day shooter

A competency hearing for been rescheduled for an alleged Christmas Day shooter.

24-year old Jack Braboy was scheduled to appear in court Friday morning for a motions hearing but it was pushed back to April.

The new date will determine if he is competent enough to stand trial.

Braboy was arrested this past Christmas in connection to the alleged shooting death of his mother, 49-year old Mary Alonzo. The shooting reportedly happened on Kiowa Avenue.

State’s attorney Matt Maciarello says Braboy faces a number of charges, including first degree murder.
