Cambridge cocaine dealer sentenced to 7 years in prison

A Cambridge man has reportedly been sentenced to 7 years behind bars.
Shannon Banks, 42, of Cambridge will apparently spend 7 years in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of 3 firearms and ammunition; and for possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.
In addition, Banks was ordered to surrender 3 guns, nearly $400,000 in cash from his home and a storage unit, over $5,000 from his bank account, 9 TVs, jewelery, a car, and a party bus, which are believed to have been purchased through drug trafficking proceeds.
According to Banks’ plea agreement, in April 2014, authorities searched his home on Moose Lodge Road and seized over 233 grams of cocaine, around $216,000 in cash, a loaded handgun, and a 12-gauge shotgun.
Banks has reportedly admitted that the cash recovered from his home and storage unit, were proceeds of drug trafficking.
