Burned structure in Accomack Co. reveals dead body

An investigation is underway in Accomack County, after a body was reportedly found in a burning building.

Accomack County Sheriff, Todd Godwin, says on Tuesday, around 10:50 PM, emergency crews responded to a structure fire at the Trails End campground in Horntown. Once on scene, firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, and found a body inside the structure.

The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police were then notified, and assumed the investigation. Law enforcement says the investigation is on-going at this time. The body has apparently been turned over the the Medical Examiner’s Office in Norfolk, where it will be identified, and a cause of death will be determined.
