Bennett Downs Jags In Season Opener

The James M. Bennett High School baseball team hosted Washington on Monday afternoon for its season opener, and pulled out a 5-1 victory to open 2015 in the win column. The Jags move to 0-3 for the season.

Taking the mound for the Clippers was Grant Henderson, who recorded the win for the game, only allowing one run through his innings pitched. The game remained close through the first three innings, until Bennett tacked on two runs in the bottom of the third to take a 3-1 lead.

Bennett’s Cade Rousseau had a double and two RBIs to pace the offense.

The Clippers travel to Snow Hill for their next game on Wednesday, while Washington heads home for a game against Wicomico High on Wednesday as well.
