Young girl’s birthday benefits local charities

One 11-year-old girl in Salisbury used her birthday to benefit the community. Cassidy O’Connell celebrated her birthday at the end of January. Instead of traditional birthday presents, she asked her friends for pet supplies. All of the goods she collected will be donated to the Humane Society.

That’s not Cassidy’s only charitable donation though, she also had a special request for her family. She asked her family for money so that she could buy toys to donate to Brooke’s Toy Closet at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. She went shopping with the money and now has a bunch of toys for donation. Brooke’s Toy Closet was created by Brooke Mulford and her friends at Salisbury Christian School. It’s a toy cabinet filled with toys, coloring books and other goodies that the Pediatric Unit can give to children while they are hospitalized.

Brooke’s Toy Closet is funded by the Brooke Mulford Foundation and donations from the community like Cassidy’s. For more information click here.
