Woodbridge Falls At Home To Newark
Saturday afternoon, Woodbridge hosted the Newark Yellow Jackets in Greenwood for a great high school basketball game. The Blue Raiders could not hold on for the win as the Yellow Jackets win the game.
Newark and Woodbridge started off slow and found it tough to find a rhythm due to the refs making calls throughout the first half. Both coaching staffs appeared to be frustrated with the fouls and calls being made throughout the first half. At the tail end of the first quarter, Newark’s James Bond knocked down a half court shot at the buzzer to give his team the lead 14-11 going into the second quarter.
The second quarter was back and forth as well, but Woodbridge was able to walk away from the first half with a six point lead, 29-23. However, after a slow third quarter, Newark turned up the heat in the fourth outscoring Woodbridge 25-15. The Yellow Jackets would walk away with the game, 59-51.
