Wesley Women’s Hoops Falls In Season Finale
The Wesley College women’s basketball team fell in its season finale to Mary Washington 66-60, on Saturday afternoon in Dover.
Freshman Brionna Johnson finished the year with another double double, registering 18 points and 12 rebounds, while senior Roniece Williams poured in 14 points and had 5 steals in her final collegiate game. Alexis Stroud made her presence felt, adding 12 points off the bench. Mary Washington shot 48% from the field on the day, and dominated the paint, outrebounding Wesley 44-28. Center Brianne Comden poured in a game-high 29 points, shooting 14-19 from the field, along with pulling down 10 rebounds.
The Wolverines finish the year at 11-14 overall and 7-11 in the CAC, and are the odd team out in a three-way tie for the final two spots of the CAC playoff race.
