Va. State Police respond to over 300 wrecks as storm hits state

Virginia State Police say troopers have responded to more than 300 weather-related accidents during the latest winter storm.

State police say a majority of the 358 accidents involved only damaged vehicles. No fatalities have been reported.

Since midnight Wednesday, troopers also have responded to 191 disabled vehicles.

State police said Thursday in a news release that motorists should stay off the highways or delay traveling until later in the day.

The Virginia Department of Transportation reports severe road conditions on the Eastern Shore and moderate road conditions in the southern half of Virginia.
