UPDATE: Harrington bar fire ruled accidental

A bar fire in Harrington that displaced residents of the building, has been ruled as accidental.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office says the fire that broke out at Stone’s Tavern & Package on Mechanic Street on Tuesday afternoon, was caused by an electrical failure in the fixed branch circuitry.

The fire caused residents from the 2nd and 3rd floors of the building, to be put out, and receive assistance from the Red Cross. Damages to the building were reportedly estimated at $25,000.
