UPDATE: Amber Alert cancelled for missing New Castle girl

An Amber Alert for a missing New Castle County three-year-old, has been cancelled.

The New Castle County Police Department says that Elinor Trotta was found safely in Massachusetts. Elinor was reportedly in company of her father, Michael Trotta, who is now in custody.

Michael Trotta and the child were reportedly found in Spencer, Massachusetts in Tuesday around 3:30 PM. He is now facing charges stemming from a February 15th incident, along with this apparent parental abduction, including reckless endangering, carjacking, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say after an intense and aggressive investigation into the incident, they are now working to reunite the girl with her mother. Dawn Barkus, has reportedly spoken with her daughter on the phone, and told the Associated Press that she seemed shaken, and ready to be home. Barkus is expected to fly to Massachusetts as soon as possible.
