UPDATE: 2 injured after small plane crash in Anne Arundel Co., Md.

A small plane crash near the Tipton Airport has injured two people Sunday, according to Maryland State Police.

Maryland State Police say the victims are identified as Jeffry P. Barnett, 57, of Glen Burnie, Md., who was piloting the plane, and Thomas L. Cline, 82, of Silver Spring, Md., a passenger.

Authorities say the plane crashed in a wooded area near Fort Meade around 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon. According to police, the men had just lifted off from Tipton Airport, when they crash. Authorities responded to the scene and say the plane was on its roof with the two men trapped inside.

Authorities say both men were flown by Maryland State Police helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Their conditions are unknown at the time.
