Two charged with animal cruelty in Cambridge, after apparently moving without dog

Two Cambridge residents have been charged, after they reportedly moved away, and left a dog behind.
The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office says on Friday, January 9th, a woman called Dog Control for assistance, after her Willis Street neighbor moved away in mid-December, and left a dog on the property. Authorities say the woman tried to take care of the abandoned dog, but when the weather got cold, she contacted officials. Dog Control reportedly was able to get the dog, and treat it.
The Sheriff’s Office was then able to track down the suspects, 31-year-old Carly Robinson, and 33-year-old Robert James Berman, to a home on Cedar Street in Cambridge.
Each were charged with a criminal summons for animal cruelty, conspiracy to commit animal cruelty, failure to provide water, food, and shelter for a dog, conspiracy to fail to provide food, water, and shelter for a dog in illegal use of a restraint to limit movement. Both Robinson and Berman are scheduled for an appearance in Dorchester County District Court on February 9, 2015.
