Troopers investigate attempted robbery on Ocean View grocery store

State Police are investigating an attempted robbery of an Ocean View grocery store that occurred early Thursday evening.
 
According to authorities, a male suspect entered Hocker’s Supermarket on 30244 Cedar Neck Road around 8:20 p.m. The suspect reportedly approached the 49-year-old female employee at the counter and demanded the clerk to hand over the money in the register. Police say the suspect had implied he had a weapon. When the clerk refused and alerted another store employee,  the suspect fled out the front door in an unknown direction.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, between 6’01”-6’04” tall, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and a grey mask over his face.
