Third Time’s A Charm For Easton
After a back-and-forth game, the Easton Warriors pulled away defeating the North Caroline Bulldogs 56-52, avenging two regular season losses to the Bulldogs.
Easton went up 16-9 after one quarter, but North Caroline fought their way back in the second quarter. An 8-0 roun would give the Bulldogs the lead, but not for long as it would be Easton going into the locker room with the 28-26. Again North Caroline would battle their way back in it, and tie the game at 40 going into the final quarter. Easton guard Tay’von Emory hit a three pointer to tie the game with under three minutes remaining, and guard Cortez Murray exploded for an acrobatic lay up, and a powerful and-1 in consecutive possessions. That would be the spark Easton needed as a couple of stops and free throws would finish North Caroline off.
With the win, Easton advances face the top seed of the section, Wicomico. The teams tip off Tuesday, March 3rd in Salisbury at 5:30 p.m.
