Sussex County dog license registration deadline Sunday

Officials are reminding Sussex County residents that the deadline to register your dog, is quickly approaching.

Dog owners have until Sunday, March 1st, to get their 2015 licenses for dogs that are 6 months or older. Those applying in person only have until Friday, February 27th, as the office will be closed on Sunday. Those applying online, have until Sunday.

Yearly licenses cost $10 for spayed and neutered dogs, or $15 for non-spayed or un-neutered dogs. Fees are waived for seeing-eye, lead, or guide dogs, along with those who have served in the military. Dogs must be up-to-date on their rabies vaccination, in order to get a license.

Residents can pay for one, two, or three year licenses, which expire on December 31st of the given year. Owners with unlicensed dogs, face initial fines between $50 and $100. For questions about dog control services, and licensing requirements, call 302-855-7380.
