SU Men’s Basketball Shoot Lights Out, Down Mary Washington
The Salisbury University men’s basketball team had the hot hand in Saturdays game against Mary Washington, and road it to a 85-69 win. The win improves the Sea Gulls to 14-7 on the year.
The Gulls couldn’t have opened the game any better, quickly taking a 21-5 lead thanks to 5 long balls. Justin Witmer connected on 2 from beyond the arc in the games first 10 minutes, as did Rocky Harris as everyone was feeling it. The Eagles would then settle down and try and work their way back into the game. They would get within single digits, but SU would close out the half to take a 38-20 lead into the locker room. Things didn’t change much in the second half, as SU rolled to the win. Witmer led the Gulls with 20 points, while Wyatt Smith and Connor Strickland both added 17, and Harris added 16.
Salisbury returns to action Wednesday when they travel to play Wesley.
