Structure fire torches Pavilion in Rehoboth Shores

A structure fire has torched the Pavilion in Rehoboth Shores, according to the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company.
Authorities say they responded to the fire on Bay Boulevard, off of Long Neck Road, around 8:30 p.m. Saturday. They say the pavilion within the Rehoboth Shores development caught fire and was completely destroyed as a result of the incident. We’re told various witness reports have insinuated “numerous suspicious persons” near the vicinity at the time of the incident.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, along with assistance from the Long Neck Facility. The Delaware State Fire Police and the Delaware State Fire Marshall’s office also responded to the incident.
The Delaware State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating.
