Sea Gulls Survive Wesley’s Comeback Attempt
The Salisbury University men’s basketball team squeaked by Wesley College 68-61 Wednesday night at Wentworth Gymnasium in Dover.
The Sea Gulls held a 40-29 lead at the half, but Wesley came out in the second half on fire. A 7-0 run would cut the lead to four less than three minutes into the half. Wesley would get Salisbury’s lead to two points multiple times in the second half, but was never able to take the lead.
Wyatt Smith led Salisbury with 17 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks, while teammate Kyle Savercool added 16, including four three-pointers. Anthony Bowers and JW Lawson each scored 17 to lead Wesley.
Salisbury host Frostburg on February 14th, while Wesley tips off at St. Mary’s the same day.
