Salisbury teen charged with robbery

Police in Salisbury have arrested a teenager, who apparently assaulted a woman before stealing her purse.
Salisbury Police say it all happened just before 11:00 PM on Saturday, at The Express Mart on N. Salisbury Boulevard. According to the report, the woman and the suspects were in the store together, but the suspects left first, so as the woman made her purchase and walked out, the two suspects attacked her. Police say one of the suspects pushed the woman to the ground before stealing her purse, before the two fled behind the business. The victim was apparently not injured and didn’t need medical attention.
Detectives say they were able to find the suspects on video surveillance footage, as they entered the store, and were able to locate the two underage male suspects. Police apparently determined one didn’t have any direct involvement with the crime, but arrested and charged the second, a 15-year-old Salisbury male, with robbery, theft less $1,000, assault 2nd degree, and reckless endangerment. He was released to the Department of Juvenile Justice and he is now being held at the Lower Eastern Shore Children’s Center.
Police say the investigation into the incident is on-going, and are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 410-548-3165 or Crime Solvers at 410-548-1776.
