Salisbury Men’s Basketball Slam Home The Win Saturday Afternoon

The Salisbury men’s basketball teams squared off against the Southern Virginia Knights Saturday afternoon looking to bounce back after falling to St. Mary’s on Wednesday night.

The Gulls started off hot taking a 12-4 lead early in the first, but the Knights fought their way back into the game tying the game up with the home team. However, with the help from Justin Witmer shooting 6-9 from the field including his 5-8 from behind the arc totaling 18 points at the half. Close behind Witmer, Wyatt Smith knocked down 7-10 from the field scoring 15 points heading into the second half.

Things heated up for the Gulls down the stretch in the second half after a few dunks lit fire underneath the Salisbury team. The Gulls outscored the Knights 43-19 in the second half and shot 55.6% in the second half averaging out to 53.4% for the game.

Wyatt Smith’s dunk is below – he led his team with an impressive 26 points while Justin Witmer finishes the night with 23 points – 18 of those points came from behind the arc.
