A retired Maryland National Guard officer who was wounded in Iraq in 2007 is set to receive a Purple Heart.

Maj. Gen. Linda Singh, the top officer in the Maryland National Guard, will present the medal to Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jerry Godwin at a ceremony on Sunday.
