Polytech Makes Statement vs. Sussex Tech

The Polytech boys basketball team continued their incredible run with another impressive win Monday night, defeating Sussex Tech 85-66. The win improves the Panthers to 16-1, while the loss drops the Ravens to 9-8.

Polytech wouldn’t waste much time going to work, quickly grabbing a 21-15 lead by the end of the first. The lead continued to grow, and by halftime the home team found themselves up 38-25. The bigs for the Panthers had their way with the Ravens front line, as both Juwan Gray and DeVaughn Mallory would score from inside the paint, and step out to connect on shots from beyond the arc.  Mallory would finish with 31 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks, while Gray added 21 points.

The Ravens would continue to battle, led by Brandon Palmer’s 21 points, while Shi’wan Sykes added 15 and Dai’Ron Abbott scored 8. The Panthers though would close the door, and hold on for the win.

The Ravens return to the court Friday when they host Cape Henlopen, while Polytech returns to action Friday when they travel to Sussex Central.
