Police issue Amber Alert for missing 3-year-old child

Delaware State Police have issued an Amber Alert at the request of New Castle Police after an alleged parental abduction.
Police say they responded to the 800 block of East Basin Road around 6:48 p.m. Monday for a reported assault. According to police, the victim advised 39-year-old Michael Trotta (pictured above) came to her home, assaulted her, and took their 3-year-old Elinor.
Michael Trotta is described as a white male, 5’8″ tall, approximately 160 pounds, balding short haircuit, with scruffy beard and mustache. He was reportedly last seen wearing all black clothing. Police say the suspect reportedly fled a 1989 gray Mazda 626 bearing Delaware registration 247457.
Police describe Elinor as a three-year-old white female, approximately 60 pounds, heavy set brown shoulder length hair. She was last seen wearing a purple puffy coat, pink pants and “Frozen” sneakers.
Police believe the child is in imminent danger and that Trotta may have fled with her to the state of New Jersey possibly heading to New York City.
