Maryland State Police say Shawn Michael Stanley, 31, of Salisbury, and a juvenile passenger are facing charges after the car Stanley was driving overturned in a ditch after reportedly trying to evade police Sunday night.

A trooper tells 47 ABC the chase began on Head of Creek Road in Quantico, Md., when a resident had called 911 to report a suspicious vehicle parked outside their residence.

Police say when they approached the vehicle, they noticed marijuana in the center console. When the troopers ordered the passengers out of the car, the driver reportedly took off. Troopers say the driver and passenger apparently didn’t make it far, as police say the car crashed into a ditch less than a mile away on Brot-Matt Road, flipping onto its roof.

Police say a juvenile was in the car with Stanley, however it’s not clear what their relationship is at this point. Troopers say there were no injuries in the crash, but the passenger was taken to PRMC because of his juvenile status. State Police have charged Stanley with charged with Traffic /CDS. The Juvenile Charged as Juvenile with CDS.
