Parkside Gets Overtime Win Over Decatur
The Parkside Rams hosted the Stephen Decatur Seahawks on Saturday afternoon in what turned out to be one of the strangest games of the weekend and one that many people would not have predicted.
The Parkside Rams took an early lead in the first and second quarter going into halftime with a 10 point lead, but the second half was a completely different story. The lineup for the Rams was constantly changing throughout the game making it very difficult to find a good pace and rhythm to ensure the win. Decatur was not making things any easier – their bigs were playing extremely well down low – putting away buckets and getting big rebounds in crucial moments of the game. Without Colen Gaynor in the game for the Rams due to foul trouble, Parkside found it tough to win the game down low which led to many problems on both sides of the ball.
Late in the fourth quarter, Gaynor did foul out of the game on a questionable call, which is at the end of our high lights above. The Rams fought their way back into the game in the fourth quarter managing to go into overtime – eventually leading to 69 – 61 victory at home.
