One arrested on drug charges in Easton

A homeless Pocomoke man is facing charges, after Police say he was found with cocaine in an Easton hotel room.

Easton Police say on Friday, Officers on patrol near the Econo-Lodge Hotel on Ocean Gateway, notice a man acting suspicious. Officers say they then talked to 51-year-old Gregory Sawyer, and found that he had suspected cocaine on him, along with inside of his hotel room.

Sawyer was arrested, and taken to the Police Department, where he was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance – cocaine, and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.

After an initial appearance hearing, Sawyer was ordered to be held at the Talbot County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond, pending trial.
