MADD to support ignition interlocks in Md.

The organization Mothers Against Drunk Driving (“MADD”) will be holding a press conference in support of two bills on Tuesday.

Both the house and senate have introduced measures that require ignition interlocks for all convicted drunk drivers.

The in-car lock would essentially act as a breathalyzer, preventing the engine from being started until a valid breath sample is provided.

24 states have similar laws in place.
