Laurel’s Scores 22 Points In Third Quarter For The Win
The Lake Forest Spartans posted the Laurel Bulldogs on Friday night on the hardwood for Lake Forest last game of the year at home. Tonight’s outing brought forth fans of all ages to see the Spartans take on the Bulldogs including alumni from 1979.
Throughout the first half, both teams played fairly even, however, it was clear that the Bulldogs were not satisfied with how they were playing in the first half. Laurel finished the half with a 28-26 lead over Lake Forest.
The second half was a completely different story for the Laurel bulldog who came out extremely strong and taking a huge lead in the third quarter. The Bulldogs knocked down 22 points in the third, putting them up 50-28 at the end of the third-quarter. The Spartans were only able to capitalize on one basket throughout the entire third-quarter and did not manage to get off many shots.
The Bulldogs needed a game like this in order to boost their morale since last week was not the easiest week on the players in red and black. Laurel found a rhythm and started moving the ball around very well and knocking down shots that were not falling last week.
Lake Forest would attempt to make a comeback, but Laurel would not let go of the lead as they go onto win the game 66-53.
