Judge reverses decision in Salisbury mayor civil suit

The slate appears to be wiped clean for Salisbury Mayor Jim Ireton.

According to city officials, a judge reversed the guilty verdict against him on January 29 stemming from a civil suit filed against the Mayor by former city employee Lore Chambers.

In December, a jury found Ireton liable of verbally assaulting Chambers but, they determined that he acted without malice.

Ireton’s lawyer told the judge that since there was no malice there was no assault and the judge agreed, reversing last year’s decision.
