Giant announces recall for batch of salsa

A batch of bean salsa sold at a local grocery chain, has been pulled from shelves. Giant Food says Clint’s Picante has recalled their Clint’s Black Bean & Corn Salsa because of an undeclared allergen. Officials say the products contain peanuts, which are not listed on the ingredient label.

The following product is included in this recall:
Clint’s Black Bean & Corn Salsa, 16 oz., UPC 61344000005, Lot Number 247JC4A, 282JC4A, 288JC4A, 351JC4A or 353JC4A

Anyone who purchased the product is asked to throw away any unused portion, and bring your purchase receipt to your local store for a full refund. Officials say the burgers may contain peanuts, which is not listed on the ingredient list. Giant says they haven’t received any illness reports to date. The product is apparently safe to consume, if you do not have a peanut allergy.

For more information contact Clint’s at 210-274-5986 or 210-274-5916, or Giant Food Customer Service at 888-469-4426.
