Friday the 13th

Friday the 13th is a memorable day for many reason. Not only does it fall before Valentine’s Day this Year, but people also believe this day to be bad luck. There has been some recorded disasters that have fallen on Friday the 13th during the month of February.   In 1784 there was an ice floe which is a large pack of floating ice that blocked the Mississippi River by New Orleans and it passed through the Gulf of Mexico.  In 1885, an avalanche in Utah took place killing 16 people. In 1987, a huge storm passed over central California that lasted for 24 hours producing 11 inches of rain. It also caused 36 inches of snow in a Ski Resort in Nevada.

The next following years that we will see a Friday the 13th during the month of February will occur in 2026, 2032, 2037.
