Easton woman gets third solicitation citation in one month

An Easton woman is behind bars, after more than a dozen run-ins with Police since January.

Easton Police say on Thursday, around 6:50 PM, Officers responded to reports of a woman soliciting people for money near Hanson and Brookletts Avenues. Once on scene, Police say they found a familiar face, 41-year-old Olympia Wilson, who is known to stop vehicles and knock on doors, asking for money to feed herself and her four children. According the authorities, Wilson’s story, isn’t true.

They have reportedly warned Wilson to stop many times, and since January 15th, have responded to 14 complaints by residents about her solicitation. Police say following the many warnings, on both January 25th and 31st, they cited her for disobeying a lawful order by police for soliciting.

On Thursday, she was once again charged for disobeying a lawful order by police for soliciting, and this time was ordered to be held at the Talbot County Detention Center on $5,000.
