Delmarva Christian Girls Defeat Host Salisbury School

Taking an early first quarter lead, the Delmarva Christian School girl’s basketball team downed host The Salisbury School on Friday night, 53-38. With the victory, the Royals improve to 12-4, while the Dragons move to 9-9.

Delmarva Christian jumped out to a big lead through the first quarter, 24-7, and even though the five points it scored in the second quarter wasn’t much, the big lead wouldn’t dwindle for the remainder of the game. The Dragons put together a strong fourth quarter, outscoring the Royals, 19-9, but the deficit was too much to overcome.

The Royals were paced by Ashlee McKay’s 16 points, while Morgan McCabe and Caroline Lewis both tallied 12 points for the Dragons.

Delmarva Christian heads home to host Salisbury Christian on Monday at 4 p.m., while The Salisbury School heads to Gunston Day School on Monday for a 4 p.m., start.
