Delaware drop out rate reaches record low

Promising education statistics were released in Delaware Tuesday. State officials say the high school dropout rate hit a record low last year and the graduation rate rose.

Out of more than 38,000 students, 817 dropped out. That’s a rate of 2.1 percent. This is  a  0.8  percent improvement from 2.9 the year before, which until now, was the best in thirty years in Delaware.

Meanwhile, the graduation rate increased to 84.4 percent, up from 79.9.
