Code Purple locations open for homeless population in DE

With that cold air expected to continue through tonight, Cold Purple locations are open across Delaware.

The sites will give residents that are in need of shelter a place for safe and warm short-term housing, along with hot meals.

This includes Georgetown Presbyterian Church in Sussex County.

Pastor of the church, Mike Williams, says while they only have six beds, he works closely with other Code Purple locations in the area, to make sure the homeless population is taken care of during the winter months.

“When the weather changes quickly the need is just immense,” says Pastor Williams. “The hope is that they’ll be out on the street, rested, and able to make wise decisions the next day.”
