47ABC breaks down Valentine’s Day “must haves”
Love is in the air! Valentines Day just around the corner. Roughly $18.6 billion dollars will be spent in the U.S. with the average person spending more than $130. However, the question is, what do you get?
Wayne Bradford, the owner of Kitty’s Flowers says, “The easiest way to say I love you is with flowers. There’s lots of ways to do that. We have the traditional red roses, every flower, and every color you could possibly imagine these days.”
Kitty’s flowers in Salisbury also likes to step outside the box with more contemporary arrangements.
Bradford goes on, “That’s sort of my style, I like the way this looks.”
The flower shop even has gifts for guys, like their hungry man’s basket.
Susan Patt, the owner of Cake Art says, “Everybody loves chocolate. Put it on a strawberry and it’s even better. You can also put it in a cupcake like our chocolate lust, it says it all.”
Cake art has gooey fudge cake kababs, and one of a kind cupcakes like the “Red Hot Love” Fireball. 47ABC’s Jobina Fortson tried it and said it was so good her head was spinning.
However, if your Valentine is counting calories, you can’t go wrong with some “bling.”
Susan Purnell, owner of Kuhn’s Jeweler’s says “Candy’s fattening, flowers fade but jewelery last forever.”
Purnell says lots of people tend to be intimidated by jewelry stores, but the phrase “go big or go home” doesn’t apply at her shop. Purnell says Kuhn’s has deals for everyone.
Purnell replies, “For example we have this bar necklace that we’ve engraved the word love on. You could engrave anything you want. They sell for $75, and it’s twenty five percent off, so whatever that comes out to you’re getting away with a gift for less than $50.”
However, no matter how big or small the gift, it’s always the thought that counts.
Cake Art will remain open on Saturday until five o’clock for Valentines Day, Kuhn’s Jeweler’s will have their entire store twenty five percent off until Valentines Day, and Kitty’s Flowers is advising all customers to make order arrangements by Friday, but the shop is doing same day deliveries on Valentines Day.
